Never Say Never in a Casino

If you have been in a casino long enough, you may have heard some players say "I am never lucky" or "I never win." Perhaps you have even seen them become so frustrated that they sometimes lose not only their money but their temper as well, taking it out on the card dealer, bingo caller or even the slot machine. If you have witnessed these, then consider yourself lucky because you have learned half of what you need to know to avoid being a sore casino loser - never say never in a casino.

The truth is that there is no casino player who is never lucky or who has never won a casino game. But there are hordes of players who think that they have not been lucky enough to win big time, or have made substantial winnings and went on playing hoping to win some more only to give back to the casino their winnings including their original bankroll.

When you sit in a casino game, you play to win. But you must not forget that you also play to enjoy, which is your objective in going to the casino in the first place. A good casino player learns gaming strategies to hone his skills so that when he sits in the gaming table, he is able to move the odds a bit to his side to help him win the game. But the good casino player has also conditioned his mind that his primary reason for being in the casino is to have some fun and entertainment such that he is able to accept gaming losses as well deserved entertainment expenses.

Many casino players don't realize it, but a great deal of gaming success stems from proper management of their casino bankroll. This starts with the preparation of a budget for each daily gaming session and a realistic expectation of returns on that budget. For a daily gaming bankroll of 200 dollars, for instance, a return of 40 dollars, or 20 percent of your bankroll might be considered reasonable enough. So if you win 100 dollars, set aside 40 dollars and play the rest of your winnings for the time you have allotted for your daily gaming session. If you lose, don't chase your losses because you risk losing to the casino the winnings that you have set aside including your original bankroll. Instead, just quit and walk away. Pegging a reasonable return on your bankroll will give you an indication when to fold while you are ahead.
